Stillhouse Lake

by Rachel Caine

I love thriller/mystery stories, but I usually don't give them 5 stars because they can be predictable and formulaic. This book, Stillhouse Lake By Rachel Caine is the exception.

Happiness Falls

by Angie Kim

This is an intelligent book. The only thing I could criticize was that perhaps it was a bit too long, and dragged a bit in the middle. But it definitely kept my interest. Happiness Falls is a thesis on sociology and philosophy.

Night Watching

by Tracy Sierra

I love everything about this book, from the beautiful cover to the complete WTF I felt and thought throughout this entire novel.

Cold Victory

by Karl Marlantes

I love stories that take place in the North - but the Cold War is not one of my favorite tropes... until I read this book! It is so well-written, well-researched, and well-developed!

Keep It In The Family

by John Marrs

Keep It In The Family is a new John Marrs masterpiece. This is a dark, dark serial killer mystery/horror story that is so well written I stayed up all night finishing it.

The Last One At the Wedding

by Jason Rekulak

This book only generally received average reviews, and I almost skipped it. I'm so glad I didn't! What an excellent read.

In the Deep

by Loreth Anne White

I don't usually give thrillers a 5-star rating, because - although it's a favorite genre - they are rarely over-the-top good writing and plot lines. This one stands out.
