I love thriller/mystery stories, but I usually don't give them 5 stars because they can be predictable and formulaic. This book, Stillhouse Lake By Rachel Caine is the exception. WOW --- it is so well-written and compelling, that I gave up other activities (such as sleeping!) to finish reading this story! I read all night and finished this morning. Another point in this book's favor and argument for a 5-star rating: I don't usually like sequels or series, but I will read the next one in this series. Check trigger warnings, it is brutal at times. But it leaves you on the edge of your seat.
