In the Deep

by Loreth Anne White

I don't usually give thrillers a 5-star rating, because - although it's a favorite genre - they are rarely over-the-top good writing and plot lines. This one stands out. The author weaves such a story that surprises without being ridiculous, and is subtly deep and shocking at the same time. I thought I knew what was going on, and I was partly right (the red herring) but completely wrong. Such a fun ride! It took me a while to get into it, but I credit my personal distractedness, not the author. I love that it mostly took place in Australia, too. Excellent scenery descriptions. I will read more of Loreth Ann White.
