Getting Started
Your library card is your connection to a wealth of resources! This small piece of plastic will lead you to a treasure trove of books, digital materials, and incredible programs.
Your library card is more than just a tool to borrow books; it’s an invitation to discover, learn, and connect. Your Town and Country Public Library card gives you direct access to more than 100 libraries and allows you to register at any library in Illinois.
Borrowing Periods
Nearly every item on our shelves will check out for three weeks.
Luckyday items, Tonies, and STEAM kits check out for one week.
Renewals:
Eligible Library materials will automatically be renewed as the original due date approaches.
Please note: Luckyday Items, Tonies, STEAM kits, Items with holds, and items that have been renewed twice already will not be eligible for renewal.
Fines
We are a fine-free public library. Unreturned items will appear as “lost” after not being returned for an extended period. Patrons with “lost” items on their record will have their account blocked until the item is returned or paid for in full.

Stay informed by signing up for text, phone, and email notifications. Set up your preferred notifications by visiting the circulation desk or calling the Library.
