The Library is open:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

In the case of inclement weather: If Kaneland school district is closed due to weather conditions, all Library programs will be canceled for that day. Information on weather-related closings will be posted on the Library’s social media and broadcast on WGN-TV.

Please call 630-365-2244 to make sure the Library is open.

If you live or own property in the Town and Country Public Library District you are entitled to a library card. Residents or renters can be verified on the Kane County Treasurer’s website.

Getting A Library Card

Your library card Pin is the last 4 digits of your library card by default.

If you forgot your card number, you can have it sent to the email address on your library account.

After you have your complete Library Card number, you can use it to reset your PIN

Town and Country Public Library is now Fine Free.  

Patrons that have items that are more than 3 weeks overdue will have their account blocked, but returning overdue items will restore access without any further penalty.

Go to the Online Catalog. Enter your barcode and pin number and click on Checked Out Titles under your name or call 630-365-2244 and the Circulation Desk staff will be glad to help you.

The Freedom of Information Act is a federal statute that provides the public the right to access government documents and records. The law provides that a person can ask a public body for a copy of its records on a specific subject and the public body must provide those records unless there is an exemption in the statute that protects those records from disclosure. 

Our FOIA Policy and Procedures

The Library provides 7 computers to the public for internet access. Four of these computers are located in the Youth Services area of the Library. Microsoft Word and other Office programs are available on all public computers. 

Wireless internet access is available throughout the building. Simply change your WiFi to Town and Country Public Library. No password is required.

Two private study rooms that have room for 2 are available on a first come first served basis.

The Friends of The Library have books for sale in their Book Nook in the Library lobby, as well as on a cart over by the Business Center.
