The Last One At the Wedding

by Jason Rekulak

This book only generally received average reviews, and I almost skipped it. I'm so glad I didn't! What an excellent read. I loved Jason Rekulak's last book, "Hidden Pictures"—and although it's completely different, "The Last One At The Wedding" was just as compelling and intriguing. The most common criticism was that the main character, Frank, made some foolish choices and was awkward and bumbling. But seriously, don't we all know someone like that? It made it feel real to me. Nobody is perfect, and I enjoy reading stories with flawed (human) characters. His heart was pure gold... and his love for his daughter was unwavering. Gotta love a main character that's easy to root for. - Libby H

I found this book to be very suspenseful.  It kept me guessing.  Mostly I wondered just how far I would go for my own children. - Maureen Q
