Donating to the Library
Donations in the form of cash, in-kind, or materials are always welcome and appreciated.
- Monetary donations are accepted for memorial books, naming opportunities, and general fund support from bequests, trust or planned giving can also be arranged.
- Historical materials pertaining to the history and development of Elburn and the surrounding area are accepted. Examples of accepted material include: documents, maps, photographs, and other printed material.
- In-kind donations are always welcome for our fundraisers.

Material Donations
The Library welcomes donations of books, games, puzzles and DVDs provided they comply with the Library Materials Selection Policy and are needed. Donations are accepted Tuesdays – Thursdays, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Or by appointment.
Donation limit of 4 grocery size bags or boxes.
Donors must transport donations into the library without staff assistance.
All materials must be in good, sellable condition.
The following materials will NOT be accepted:
- Non-fiction books more than 10 years old
- CDs
- VHS tapes
- Magazines or periodicals
- Mass market paperback books
- Medical books
- Encyclopedias
- Condensed Readers’ Digest
- Textbooks
- Items with any odor (mold, mildew, smoke, musty, etc.)
- Items with water damage and/or visible mold or mildew
Material Donations are handled by the Friends of the Town and Country Public Library.
