Wild Dark Shore

by Charlotte McConaghy

I've read 3 of Charlotte McConaghy's novels and this one is by far my favorite!  This is a mystery, but not primarily— it’s a found family trope, with adventures, shipwrecks, isolation, science, seed-vaults (such as in reality, Svalbard) storms,  lighthouses, with some climate change thrown in for good measure. It is about mother-love, relationships and survival. Most of all, I loved the setting. It takes place on a fictitious, small, remote island between Tasmania and Antarctica. I love stories about wilderness, remote, isolated places. Little spoiler… I cried at the end.
