The Hobbit

by J.R.R. Tolkien

After reading The Hobbit I felt as if I had actually made the journey with the characters. Tolkien's use of visual imagery and suspense makes the book not just a great read, but also a great reread.

Circe

by Madeline Miller

Banished by Zeus because of her power, Circe is forced to live alone on her own island.  This gives her the opportunity to do 2 things, get to know mortals and develop her witchcraft.

Reincarnation Blues

by Michael Poore

Everyone gets 10,000 tries to live a perfect life or they face oblivion and Milo is closing in on 10,000.  I had no expectations for this book when I picked it up.

Beautyland

by Marie-Helene Bernito

A story of humanity in a simple philosophic trope. Easy to read, but you will find yourself wanting to tab this book with all your exclamation marks and go back and re-read passages that just WOWed you.

The Ancient Magus' Bride

by Kore Yamazaki

Chise has been abused and neglected her whole life. In the lowest time of her life, she puts herself up in a slave auction, not caring about what happens to her.

Twice

by Mitch Albom

Finally! This book took me out of a reading slump for sure! Hard to put into words - Mitch Albom does it again with this magical realism trope about a man who gets to repeat events in his life twice. Magically.

The Last Wish

by Andrzej Sapkowski

This is a great introduction to the Witcher series. It helps build the world in a way that makes it feel seamless. Geralt is a Witcher mercenary who fights monsters and beasts for money.
