Wow. What a book! All the Glimmering Stars by Mark T. Sullivan hits all my criteria for a 5-star rating; superbly written, fascinating characters and setting, and I learned something new. In this case, I learned a whole lot of new! All The Glimmering Stars is an epic war story that takes place in the 1990s in Uganda. Did I remember that there was a war going on then? Nope. After reading this book I had vague memories but I honestly have to say I probably didn't pay attention then. Sometimes the horrors in this book made me sick; all of the time I was appalled, shocked, and horrified. But the human spirit prevails and is beautifully written into this novel. Please read this important historical fiction novel inspired by truth.
