Glass Painting Workshop

In this 2-hour workshop, participants will learn to paint traditional Islamic geometric patterns on 8 x 10-inch framed glass. Designed for beginners, this hands-on class introduces the fundamentals of the direct method of glass painting through step-by-step guidance. No artistic experience is necessary!

In addition to the workshop, participants will also have the opportunity to view a selection of instructor Samra Bashir's original paintings, offering inspiration and insight into how simple designs can evolve into intricate, timeless patterns. Samra will give a brief presentation introducing Islamic art, focusing on the history and cultural significance of geometric patterns. She will share how these designs are used in architecture and decorative arts, and talk about her creative process.
